Rosie launched MATTIO Communications, formerly RMPR, in 2004 as a one-woman PR firm focused on food and technology. In 2014 she moved to Seattle with her growing family, just as adult-use cannabis was legalized in the state of Washington. When she was hired to help launch a crowdfunding campaign for a hardcover cannabis cookbook, she quickly realized emerging cannabis brands had specific marketing needs – and challenges. She pivoted her firm’s focus to the cannabis industry and ramped up her cannabis network to include industry experts and innovative brands in the Seattle area. Thus, solidifying her niche and capitalizing on the opportunity to become a first mover in cannabis PR.

Now based in New York City, her firm MATTIO is about providing best-in-class PR and marketing services to cannabis businesses across the globe. Over the past year, her firm has grown 210% alongside the industry, adding several marketing and communications services for clients, including investor relations, content, SEO, event planning and influencer marketing. They are currently serving 40 marquee cannabis clients, including Headset, Canndescent, LeafLink, Flowhub, Harborside,Vangst, Prohbtd, and Ascend Wellness Holdings. Mel is a Partner at MATTIO communications where she is responsible for developing comprehensive public relations programs on behalf of her clients and making sure to deliver results.
After graduating with a bachelors degree in French Language and Literature (and a few minors in Physics, Mathematics, and Business) from the University of Arizona, Mel began her public relations career in NYC at Girlie Action Media, working with musicians, music festivals and firms.

She has worked with clients ranging from JUNO-Award winning Inuit singer Elisapie to NENA of “99 Red Balloons” fame to Psycho Las Vegas, America’s largest heavy metal festival, to legendary underground label Wax Trax!, earning attention from NPR, Rolling Stone, Pitchfork, WNYC and more.

In her free time, Mel enjoys her life-long education, whether that’s by watching Jeopardy to reading non-fiction or learning about wine. She will maintains her musical edge by keeping up with new music and unearthing older classics- and she’s got a soft spot for heavy metal. Mel also enjoys hiking and exploring the American Southwest.

David Stolberg is the founder of Rule of 3, a creative advertising and marketing agency located in the SF Bay Area (ro3sf.com). David has over 20 years of experience as a copywriter, creative director and socially aware marketer. Having penned award winning campaigns for Saturn and Ford cars, Apple, HP and DIRECTV, he now drives strategy as well as copy for his teams—finding a sharp strategic insight and crafting messaging to unleash sales. David’s work for PathogenDx is emblematic of his agency’s deep experience partnering with companies in biotech, healthcare and botanicals. He lives in San Anselmo, CA with his wife and has two sons.
